Riviera Maya Restaurant in Alton

Hands down the best Mexican Restaurant I've ever been!!!! The food is full of flavor and it's run by friendly people.....this is the only place I go to for Mexican food. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have eaten the chicken nachos at the restaurant before and it was delisious. I paid over $22 for 2 Togo order of nachos that was water sauce! Not cheese! The liquid had leaked all over the bag. Made the chips soggy. Would not recommend getting anything to go! The sauce did not taste like the white cheese. Tasted like tomatoes and grease and water. By the time I got home I had to throw it away. Made such a mess because they did not put cheese on chicken.

Food and service is always so good. I haven't had any issues with this place. I have not had any alcoholic beverages there so I cannot say if those are good or not. Service is fast and friendly and the food is always hot and delicious! Not expensive either!

Riviera Maya is a fine Mexican restaurant in Alton. I had one of the lunch specials of a burrito, taco, and rice. The prices were very reasonable, the food is great, and the staff is very friendly. The staff regularly checked to ensure our party had e everything we needed. I will return!

This place was fantastic! The service was prompt and welcoming. We ordered the seafood salad and the enchiladas, both were terrific! I highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Always a great choice for local Mexican food! The wife and I go here regularly. The food comes out fast and is always great! I usually order the Pollo Enchilada and it is very good.

Nice atmosphere, very clean, service was great. Got the 2 taco adobo lunch special. Really tasty. Just like tacos al pastor. They even gave us a side of grilled pineapple.

Just not that good. Food came out cold. Waiter was not friendly and way too officious.

Great location. Nice decor, and themed restaurant atmosphere. Their margaritas are huge and have a great selection to choose from. It’s very clean inside and the staff is polite and friendly. Now down to the food. Authentic! I’m from California but can confidently say this place reminds me of the authenticity I come by on the coast. This place needs more exposure.

Margarita was solid, food was good (just a tiny bit slow considering that there weren't many tables full)... Service was excellent! If I ever find myself in Alton again, I will return to Riviera Maya.

I am in town for work and one of my favorite things to do when I am somewhere new is to try different local restaurants. Riviera Maya was very highly rated, so I thought I would try it out. I had the Carnitas Tacos and the were really good. The meat was cooked well, and had a good texture to the meat. The classic combination of cilantro and onions were great. (Full disclosure: the tacos come with avocado, but I don't like them and asked for no avocados on mine) I did feel that the taco was missing something. I would of liked some salsa verde and either sour cream or mexican creme with some lime on my tacos. Overall the service was good, the chips and salsa good and the atmosphere was nice. I would definitely go back again.

The frozen mango margarita is a big hit! This restaurant has put plastic dividers up between booths to keep us more safe from the corona virus. The service is very good, teamwork is the way they do it.
